Ghost signs are intriguing remnants of any city's past, and the collection Seattle boasts is awesome. They provide tangible glimpses into another time and allow us to experience the past in the present. I am thoroughly enchanted by these signs, and with the help of local history and architectural resources I am slowly puzzling out some of the many stories associated with these early advertisements. I was looking for Holsum bread ads via a Google Image search when I found your blog. I'm now following it. Seattle is larger and older than Helena, but we've still a few really neat ghost signs that I may post - if I ever get around to taking the pictures. I'm enjoying your finds for the time being.
If anyone's interested I have an original Hartford glass company glass marble pinball machine all wood handcrafted in an original condition still functions as well as it always has.
